Join Our Mission
At Himmah, we believe in the power of community action to tackle food poverty, racism, and educational inequalities. Your support is crucial in helping us continue our work and expand our reach. By fundraising with us, you become a vital part of our mission to create positive change in Nottingham and beyond.
Why Fundraise for Himmah?
- Make a Tangible Impact: Every penny you raise helps us provide essential services such as our food bank, hot meal provision, and educational support. Your efforts directly contribute to improving the lives of those in need within our community.
- Support Diverse Projects: From our Salaam Shalom Soup Kitchen, which brings together Muslim and Jewish communities, to our School Uniform Project that recycles quality uniforms for families in need, your fundraising efforts support a wide range of innovative and impactful projects.
- Empower Communities: By raising funds, you help us empower individuals and families to overcome challenges and build a better future. Whether it's through our cooking classes that teach sustainable living skills or our FoodPrint social supermarket that reduces food waste, your support makes a difference.
How to Get Involved
Create Your Fundraising Page: Setting up a fundraising page is simple and effective. Share your personal story, add photos, and explain why you are passionate about supporting Himmah. Personalising your page can significantly boost your fundraising efforts.
Choose Your Fundraising Activity: Whether you’re running a marathon, hosting a bake sale, or organising a community event, there are countless ways to raise funds. Be creative and choose an activity that excites you and engages your network.
Share Your Journey: Use social media, email, and word of mouth to spread the word about your fundraising efforts. The more people you reach, the more support you can garner for our cause. Don’t forget to thank your donors and keep them updated on your progress.
Past Fundraising Activities
Climbing Snowdon Together: One of our most memorable fundraising events was a group climb up Snowdon. This challenging yet rewarding experience brought together a diverse group of supporters, all united by a common goal to raise funds for our vital services. The camaraderie and sense of achievement were palpable, and the funds raised made a significant impact on our community projects.
Current Fundraising Opportunity: Robin Hood Half Marathon
We are thrilled to announce that Himmah is an official partner in the annual Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham this September! On Sunday, September 29th, 2024, hundreds will take to the streets to complete the iconic 13.1-mile course through the heart of our city. This year, we're asking our amazing community of supporters to join us in this exciting fundraising challenge.
Sign Up and Fundraise: Whether you're a seasoned runner or new to the sport, we'd love for you to be part of Team Himmah. By signing up and raising funds, you'll be making a direct and meaningful impact on our work to tackle poverty, promote social integration, and empower marginalised groups in Nottingham. Head over to our JustGiving page to sign up, set up your fundraising page, and start spreading the word. Every single pound you raise will help us continue our vital programs and services, creating positive change right here in our community.
Training and Support: In addition to receiving Himmah-branded gear to wear with pride on race day, you'll also have the opportunity to train alongside our very own Himmah employees who are participating. They'll be leading group training sessions to help you get race-ready, while also giving you a behind-the-scenes look at our organisation.
