tackling POVERTY
&
Racism

Our Mission

Himmah exists to dismantle structural poverty and racism by building community power, cultural infrastructure, and collective ownership in Nottingham and beyond. Rooted in solidarity rather than charity, we organise with communities to transform sites of crisis into spaces of leadership, connection, and change using food, culture, and organising as entry points. Through community-led hubs, anti-racist cultural work, and pathways into skills, wellbeing, and economic security, we shift power and resources into the hands of those most affected, enabling them to shape the systems, institutions, and narratives that govern their lives and build a future grounded in dignity, justice, and redistribution.

Run Further. Give Back. Change Lives.

Take on the Robin Hood Half or Mini Marathon with Team Himmah and turn every step into support for local people in need. Together, we'll challenge ourselves, build community, and raise vital funds to provide food, dignity, and hope across Nottingham.

Dignity in every dish

Dignity in Every Dish is Himmah’s summer campaign to provide 1,000 hot, nutritious meals for individuals and families experiencing food poverty across Nottingham.

As living costs continue to place pressure on households, more people are struggling to afford nourishing food alongside essential bills. Through this campaign, Himmah will provide freshly prepared meals in a welcoming environment where everyone is treated with care, respect and dignity.

Just £5 provides one meal. You can support the campaign by sponsoring a meal, hosting a fundraising feast or setting up a monthly donation.

Together, we can ensure nobody in our community has to face hunger alone.

Donations keep our projects running and our community spaces alive. They support people facing real pressure right now while backing longer-term community strength. One-off or monthly, it all counts.

The Himmah Hub is a community first space created to support groups and organisations, working with and alongside local communities. We prioritise bookings that build connection, care, culture, and collective action.
