Nottingham Clothes Bank
Operated by Himmah since April 2024, the Nottingham Clothes Bank provides essential clothing, toiletries, and dignity to people seeking asylum and newly recognised refugees in Nottingham.
Open three mornings a week next to the Nottingham Refugee Forum, the Clothes Bank offers a drop-in, no-referral service, allowing individuals to access multiple forms of support in one visit.
Between December 2024 and May 2025, we supported 724 people (including 101 children), distributing over 3,280 items of clothing and 800 toiletry packs, alongside donated suitcases to help new arrivals settle in.
More than half of all items are community donations, sourced from local leisure centres, hotels, charity shops, and events like the Robin Hood Half Marathon. This grassroots generosity, supported by 27 volunteers and coordinated by Anna, keeps the project running with compassion and care.
The Clothes Bank is more than a service, it’s a lifeline of dignity and belonging, empowering people like Amna, a former beneficiary turned volunteer, to rebuild their lives and give back to others.
